Get In Touch With Nature With The “Real Happiness” Chatbot From BBC

Chatbots are sometimes seen as impersonal and without emotion. No brain, no heart. But BBC Earth, the nature-dedicated channel of BBC, managed to develop a bot fulfilled with cuteness and love for nature.
The “Real Happiness” project has a unique goal, make people happy by sharing images from Mother Nature. A new study from the University of California revealed that watching documentaries with lots of animals and blooming forests makes people happier and relaxed. BBC Earth is now on a mission to bring real happiness to as many people as possible via a brand new chatbot on their official Facebook page.
When you click on the “Get Started” button, BBC Earth bot begins to interact with you by asking where you are from. Then it asks three questions about your preferences on living and animals. You can choose cute animals, strange animals, mammals, reptiles, flying animals, and so on.

After a few seconds, BBC Earth send you a 45 second personalized video with images from Planet Earth. All I can say is that the University of California was right! In less than a minute, I felt very relaxed and more in contact with nature and animals.

You can choose to receive a new video on your Messenger app everyday or once a week. Here’s to starting each day with a bit of real happiness!
